Blooming Apron
This is from a list of patterns by Alice Brooks, perhaps from the 1950's (no date on the publication), for a "whirl-skirted" apron, and a "full-blooming flower". It's sort-of cool and sort-of creepy at the same time. A "feed me Seymour" and Night Gallery rolled into one.

Creepy for those reasons, not to mention the connotations of woman as ripe fruit, fresh for the picking, etc. Love your blog. Saw link on crafster. I want to make a towel-craft now!
Some patterns/designs hold up better than others, don't they?! That middle apron is, um... very strange, indeed.
