I went to a bridal shower once and someone gave the bride-to-be something similar to the placemat you pictured first with the pocket for the flatware.

How cute!! Now we know where Lotta got her idea for that pattern in Simple Sewing! I think that glove could be used as a weapon, too - hah! :)

Oh yes. I am SO making those placemat napkins for our summer BBQs - it'll keep all the silverware in one place when I roll them up and shove them in a bucket. Great post!

I've made those flatware/placemat holders before! They went into a picnic basket for a wedding gift - so easy and cute!
