More Fair Fun

Bright colors and sounds.
The sounds of summer...
The Fair is all about yummy fried food.
My favorite is Tasty Chips--homemade potato chips spritzed with vinegar.
I haven't tried the Fried Avocado, Fried Cola, Fried Snickers, Fried Twinkies, or the Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich.
But I'm willing (especially the avocado).
I love the pink Gingerbread house, the "Barb's Better Buns" booth, the Indian Fry Bread, the roasted corn, and of course the sliced green apples with caramel.
But I always buy an artichoke sandwich from Roxy--a local restaurant in Encinitas.

We missed the Fair this year... your pictures capture the color and hoopla! Thanks for visiting Chickenblog... we saw the sculpture garden in Kit Carson Park, Escondido. I haven't seen the UCSD collection or the Balboa Park 'gator. More to see and do! I'll be back for more visits. You have a nice blog.
The sign for the deep fried Twinkies caught my eye. Last night I made a horrible sounding concoction from an old recipe including Twinkies...which btw, actually was very good! I will post the recipe card and photo of the dessert on my web site so you can see what I mean.
And it looks like a good fair. Way more colorful and interesting than those around here.

Love the photos - totally takes me back. I haven't been to the fair in ages, but I'd go for a corndog and some nachos in a heartbeat.
Although, the fried avocado does sound tasty. What is the story with the Krispy kreme chicken sandwich? Tell me the bread is not donut.
Great photos. Looks like a really fun fair. And yeah, what is a Krispy Kreme Chicken sandwich? I'm picturing the chicken between two donuts. Please tell me this is not the case. That just makes my tummy hurt.
Around these parts, Elephant Ears are big fair food! Big greasy fried wrinkled flat donuts, dipped in sugar & cinnamon.
And cotton candy too, of course!

i have to behonest and admit that the sign for the krispy kreme chicken sandwhich scared me.... not the actual sign, but the simple knowledges that something so simple such as a chicken sammich can be so easily corrupted by the likes of krispy kreme.

I'm still wrapping my brain around "Fried Avocado..."
I'm a sucker for fried pickles. And mushrooms. And cauliflower. (My arteries groan as I type this.)
