What's with all the bleach bottle crafts in the 60's?
This is called Dachshund Pretzel Holder, but it sure looks more like a pig to me. It's actully kinda cute.

1. nails on a foam ball
2. spiral made from cutter on a wax paper box
3. pic from xmas card atop a blade dispenser
4. tape inserts
5. tape dispenser
6. paper fasteners
7. hair curler
8. typewriter reel
9. flash bulb
10. pill bottle
And of course, no holiday decoration is complete without a village scene. Your choice between matchstick (December 1964):

or...Ta Da (congrats to tackiest display of the year)...
... (drumroll...)...

I just blogged my Gum Elves. :}
I think no matter how down and out somebody was, they wouldn't be able to bring themselves to put a hair curler "ornament" on their tree. But, I would have thought the same thing about chewing gum. Though Liz's are awfully cute!
I need to send you a picture of my stocking from 1970. It's felt with elves... it's right at home with all this Christmas kitsch.
