First knitted dog toy completed
I switched from the yellow twine to a hemp cord, and...ta da!
My first dog toy!
Funny, it reminds me of that wood you find in the desert--the kind that's hollow with holes in it.
I think it will be fun to give clients gifts that I made myself this year.
If I have time, I'll bake some "gift cards" of bone-shaped biscuits with their names piped on in carob.

Love it! It came out wonderfully. What a great gift idea. The clock is really ticking away now and I'm not sure if I'll complete all my handmade gifts. WE are getting a bit of snow right now so a trip out to the craft store might have to wait.
Have a Merry Christmas!!
Beautiful!
Ocotillo sticks have that look when the incredibly numerous spines have come of. It's ridiculously hard wood, too. I made an earring hold out of some branches a long time back; think it's still on my flickr crafty stuff set.
Happy Christmas, Barb!
That reminds me a bit of macrame - the thing that people did back in the sixties after they tired of knitting!
Best wishes for a merry Christmas (hope it is not TOO cold where you are) and a safe and happy New Year,
Gina
