Vintage Knitted Toys

Is 'knitted' a word, or does 'knit' just take care of all the conjugations? Hmmm. Well, you get the idea.
I still don't know how to knit. Even after Heidi offered to teach me and I hesistated because I'm too fat right now. Sheesh. But I think these are really cute. No date is listed on these booklets from the UK. Penguin posted for Melinda (of course).

Oh I love these! I'm a knitter and toys are a favorite (though I've finished suprisingly few of them.) I'm trying to learn to sew but I'm suffering major trauma just trying to get the machine to work properly (three people have told me it's tension problems so I'm working that angle.) Learn to knit, it's a fab hobby.

I can't knit either, Barb - despite trying to learn for many years. I remember when I was just a little kid at school and watching all the other little girls knitting face washers and scarves, and being so jealous. But they had their Mums to teach them - my Mum couldn't because she was partially paralysed after a stroke. I have since had two MILs, and many friends try to teach me, but my fingers just turn to thumbs as soon as I hold knitting needles. And yet I can embroider...Love those knitted dolls by the way. I always wanted a golliwog, and if I ever got to learn how to do it, that is the first thing I would make!
