Shopping ideas

My new slippers (from Lands End)

On my "gimme" list"
an alarm clock called "Sunrise", (by Homedics) that mimics the sun rising--it works with your own lamp to wake you more naturally...with light and nature sounds
This is fun--a cake shaped like a sandwich, from Perpetual Kid.The current issue of the Food Network Magazine suggests making yellow cake, with peanut butter frosting plus your favorite jelly.
I think this would be fun for a kid's themed party for someone turning 50 or 60!

I love the vintage teaspoons that have been remade into garden plant markers, by Monkeys Always Lookalso available in her etsy shop, and coincidentally located in my city of San Diego too!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,
These are some things that I'd like for Christmas:

Deluxe doggie hammock, to keep my car clean

A double-frame wallet by Hobo, in one of the metallic colors (makes me drool just posting this)

Tickets to see In the Heights at the Civic Theatre next year.

A new phone.
Droid is Verizon's answer to the iphone.
Or maybe I should switch to AT&T (my Verizon contract expires in May) and get the real deal.

A gift certificate to learn how to pole dance.
I am so not kidding.
Exercise that's fun (and sexy)?! I'm all for it.

One of girl hula's photographs (I love them all)

A deck of Mexican Loteria cards to collage with.

Natural fiber yarns. Bamboo or wood knitting needles.

Books (I have a "gimme" list on Amazon)

Gift certificate to take a Pet First Aid Class (can't believe I haven't done this yet)

A bunch of Gardner & Bloome Harvest Supreme (the garden needs work)
A portable drafting table

I set of post earrings so I can get used to wearing pierced earrings again (I don't wear them enough now, so the holes have partially closed).
Sorry, but they have to be real gold--I'm allergic to nickel, so no mixed metals.

A full set of Prismacolor pencils (sometimes available at Aaron Brothers with a coupon for 40% off)

A class in the red kitchen

and so many more things.
It's fun to dream.

I want....

Oh my. Voodoo knives. It just doesn't get much better than this.

And really, this shirt is soooo me.
From Think Geek.

I was in Bristol Farms tonight (about the best grocery store ever, though Whole Foods and Gelsons are great too).
Anyway, they had flavored peanut butter.
Hmmm. I may have to try it in the future.
Dark chocolate, white chocolate, or cinnamon raisin.

Why doesn't anyone sell sugared raisins?
You know, like in Raisin Bran?
I don't want the flakes, I just want the sweetened raisins.

Spending money....or wanting to anyway

Wow, I am becoming a master of killing time by cruising the web.

Ooh, love these socks
socks_anchor_stripe

and these cards
stationary
Both from Sailor Jerry.
Really want a hoodie too....

I have to save money to have my thermostat fixed in my car though.
The dealer was really kind to me today and didn't charge me anything to check it out.
Land Rover so utterly rocks.
I love my car.

I took the dog out for a walk in the rain tonight.
It was just sunset, and the gray cast of the sky held a faint pinkish purple glow.
There was a scent of smoke in the air, from wood burning in fireplaces.
We both came home soaked, but it was nice really.
There's a small magic in being able to look into the clouds and have water fall on your face.
